MLK Day Parade Rules and Regulations

You are responsible for all participating members of your group or organization. Please review the following safety tips.

 

â–ª All entries (cars, floats, marching units, etc.) must have either a sign or banner for identification.

â–ª All cars must be decorated to reflect the year's theme. Please arrive in a timely manner (Please make units decorative: streamers, balloons, and banners).

â–ª Moving vehicles must be mechanically functional, insured, and driven by licensed driver (go carts, power wheels included).

â–ª Please ensure accuracy of organization’s name, phone number, address & contact person(s).

â–ª Please submit all replies as soon as possible.

â–ª No music is to be played with explicit or profane language. Keep in mind, we are honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 

â–ª Children should be chaperoned at all times. Your organization is responsible for the children in your care.

â–ª You will receive line up instructions with an assigned sector. Line up in the order instructed when you arrive. There are no number assignments.

â–ª Please do not start throwing candy and other "throws" until you reach Garden Street. When throwing candy please make sure that it lands clear of vehicles.

â–ª Avoid leaning over floats or out of vehicles (especially children).

â–ª Please stay clear of preceding units and watch out for pedestrians.

â–ª If you plan on decorating your float, car, van, or truck in your assigned area, please do not leave any trash or debris. Let’s keep the surrounding areas clean. Please bring any necessary trash bags to keep your area clean.

â–ª Hard objects that may cause serious injury may not be thrown from vehicles but may be passed out along the sidelines.

â–ª No refunds. No exceptions.

â–ª MLK Parade Pensacola has the right to remove or eject any participant(s) that do not adhere to the guidelines and if needed will utilize the proper authorities for removal.

â–ª No decal for registered vehicle(s), no entry.

Participants should look for signs that will be posted along the routes described to assist you in finding your location.

 

The applicant(s) for an entry shall agree to indemnify and hold harmless MLK Parade Pensacola, for all claims caused by or arising out of this event.

 

Thank you very much for your cooperation in these important matters. We hope you have a safe and enjoyable time. If this form is not signed and returned with the registration form, it will delay your placement in the parade.

Please keep a copy for your records.
